Information Technology, Cybersecurity and Data Privacy

Our IT, Cybersecurity and Data Privacy team is led by a former FBI Special Agent who oversaw cybersecurity matters for eleven years, led the FBI’s cybersecurity and later served as an IT executive over infrastructure procurement and contract management.

Information Technology Law generally refers to the legal framework allowing individuals and businesses to use, access, store and share electronic information. It encompasses the application of several areas of the law (contract, intellectual property, privacy and data protection) to constantly evolving computer, software, hardware and network technology. Our IT Law team works hand in hand with our litigation and transactions teams to address our clients’ needs. This practice area requires extensive knowledge of old and new technologies, IT and electronic commerce trends and both legal and technical experience. This area consists of software development, licensing and maintenance; e-commerce transactions and websites; and mergers, acquisitions and asset or stock purchases of businesses with significant technology assets.

Cybersecurity and data privacy represent serious business risks. Our team seeks to help you manage those risks.

We have experience dealing with the integration of technologies and software into business processes and enterprise systems, which enables our team to guide our clients to realistic and practical solutions to complex legal and regulatory issues.
