Lee Ann Adams presented “Ain’t No Sunshine When She’s Gone (But There Should Be an Estate Plan)” to the Chattanooga Women’s Leadership Institute on November 20, 2013

Gearhiser, Peters, Elliott, & Cannon, PLLC

Everyone needs an estate plan, even if it’s a simple one. Why? Because your home, your heirlooms and your money might not get to the right people in your life. Don’t let the uncomfortable feeling of thinking about your own demise prevent you from taking responsibility for those you love. This session will provide some guidance on how to control your own estate and ensure that your assets will be distributed as you wish.

Below are some of the key areas our presenter, Lee Ann Adams, will address:

  • Methods of transferring assets: lifetime gifts, joint ownership, beneficiary designation, estate planning vehicles (wills and trusts)
  • Aspects of incapacity planning including advance directives, general powers of attorney and funded revocable/living trusts
  • Federal estate and Tennessee inheritance tax planning

Presented by: Lee Ann Adams; Attorney, Gearhiser, Peters, Elliott & Cannon, PLLC

  • TIME:              11:30 AM to 1:00 PM

LOCATION:    United Way of Greater Chattanooga
                           630 Market Street
